Heritage Projects

Be it travel to America or Germany – we consider our tours to be heritage projects and sometimes even special social and emotional adventures. Along with travel we present the migration experience in, exhibits, web-based documentation or publications. In the overview of heritage projects you will therefore find some of these tours e.g. theme orientated cruises or excursions in Germany for US museum specialists or genealogists.

There are some projects that deserve special recognition. Dr. Grams was among the project developers of the EXPO 2000 project „ Emigration via Bremen and Bremerhaven“ and was curator of the exhibit „Abenteuer Spurensuche“. The team of Research and Travel has developed concepts for the German Emigration Center in Bremerhaven and has carried out biographical research for their exhibit.

For the Hamburg emigration museum „Ballinstadt“ R&T has managed the use of the Hamburg passengerlists in a cooperation between the museum, the State Archives of Hamburg and Ancestry.de.

In cooperation with the German National Tourist Office (GNTO) R&T has developed an online documentation www.roots-in-germany.de and has initiated the GNTOs website www.germanoriginality.com. Both productions are follow-up projects of R&Ts „Heritage Map Northwest“.

Dr. Grams was research consultant and project developer for the Ancestry.com. Until 2017 he has designed cooperations between German archives and Ancestry.de to digitize genealogical relevant content for online publication on Ancestry's website www.ancestry.de.
